@gkalinkat Thanks so much for gifting the NYT article. which I couldn't have read otherwise. What a creep Musk is. His decisions are so egocentric. Everything's about him. Every day I'm more & more disgusted with Musk's Twitter & didn't reply or like any tweets today. Working hard on my addiction. I've seen advice saying don't delete yr account b/c after 30 days someone can use your old handle, Correct? I don't know. I'm at a loss what to do even as an inconsequential twitter user.

I'm also torn between giving up completely but have heard about the issue of losing the handle if you delete the account. I used Twitter a lot for #scicomm both within and across the borders of academia and I think what we are losing is hard to be replaced 1 on 1 anywhere else

@gkalinkat David Shiffman's article expresses the issue perfectly. (I found him on Twtr & now want to follow him, lol) It's taken yrs to build up Science Twtr, Same re so many topics. Musk is depending on that imo. Can get away with anything because of it. He's now permanently suspended the account that tracks his jet, He said a few wks ago he wouldn't as his commitment to free speech! He's stopped Ukrainian ability to log in with 2 step verification. Disruptive & dangerous.
