first of all, i am truly grateful to what does.
so while the main dedication of this account has always been the promotion of , in this case i find my self presented with a dilemma;

as in such cases usual, salute to all and

this is retarded on a level i didnt expect to see pass by today.
twitter is where you belong with this take to say the least.

@Dutchy ladies and gentlemen, it has been a while, but may i present; a poa.st participant!

you are not funny in the slightest

@mastomememakers

As ex-NAFO, I personally think that Twitter is now positioned with it's informal rules of the game to favor disinformation, russians, bad actors, etc.

Normal people that just want to talk, read normal accurate news, should at this point safely exit and re-establish their network elsewhere, doesn't matter where.

I'd prefer here but non-technical Ukrainians mostly migrate to Bluesky so I'm there too 🤷

@sichkovskyi it is unpleasant, but imho the main debate still takes place on .

while now has, at least as far as i can tell, a anchored community, it is, unfortunately far from taking any lead, and that is something not little here might even appreciate (i pers. dont so much).

and bsky, requires invitation, so it is what it is.

@mastomememakers

It may be true but I just don't see the debate anymore. Mb it's my bubble but the existence of that bubble is then very telling.

And with bsky, we reached the point when nobody wants those invites anymore, they lost their value as everyone who was interested already got theirs, others need to be convinced to try it.

But it's an adoption process, it's okay. Already millions of users here in atomized communities so it's a matter of who cares to speak outside of those really

@mastomememakers

I'm always saying that Fediverse is like Discord more than it is like a melting pot social networks.

If you join an empty Discord server you may get an impression that nobody uses Discord at all and there's no one to speak to.

But you can join a large lively Discord community and you will be lost for days in a never ending conversation, all inside the bubble of that server, without probably even wanting to communicate with other servers aside from your "home one" that much.

@sichkovskyi yes. although i an not sure how many, but i have maybe 5 followers on my proper instance. so, there is exchange.

but for mastodon to have become the biggest thing, it would have required publishers (media, news venues, etc..) to realize that mastodon could be their way to cut out the middle man by fostering own intercommunicating commnuities. but thats only, like, my opinion, man ;)

@mastomememakers

To be completely honest, I don't get what "become the biggest thing" means anymore or if I should think of it as desirable.

We need a very fair internet public square, yes, but it can be anything at any time. Once forums were massive, then myspace, then current Facebook and Twitter era.

I don't think our ability to speak is in any danger any time soon but our ability to reach anyone is constantly at risk of being taken away by random people who just happened to have lots of money.

I personally think that this weird "global melting pot forum" era is fading and was fading for quite some time. Aside from a small minority of activists and randoms globally, who's even on those social networks posting important stuff anymore?

So many questions :)

I'm happy to be whereever my community is, it doesn't have to be a single community tho

@sichkovskyi but if you had any bsky invites to spare, i ...*cough* have a friend who has a friend. and apparently that guy is quite curious and would want to have a peek. iykwim XD

so if that were possible, pm.
