I'm working on setting up a #NonProfit for #BTFree , which is a #digital #privacy, #advocacy and #consulting #platform, aka running #social #web platforms such as #Peertube or to help folks set up their own.

So I'm going to need to take #donations . Looking at @Liberapay , but they still need a #payment #processor like #Paypal.

So what's the advantage of something like Liberapay if I still need Paypal to handle actual donations? Not criticizing, attempting to learn. #Fedi

#ActivityPub for #Wordpress has some great new functionality. Read about it in the release notes of v5.8.0

Really like the improved embeddings features. Kudos to @pfefferle

Now we may do the #advocacy to all these wordpress sites we interact with: "Hey folks, no reason to do embeddings to the fascist X platform anymore. It is weird, awkward, and reflects badly on the site owners."

Better solutions have become 🍒 low-hanging fruit, and should become common practice!

The #DOJ on Tues canceled hundreds of grants to community orgs & local govts, including funding for #GunViolence prevention programs, #crime-#victim #advocacy & efforts to combat #opioid #addiction, acc/to an email obtained by WaPo.

Maureen Henneberg, acting head of the Office of #Justice Programs, which oversees the DOJ grant program, told staff in the email that the canceled awards were identified through a weeks-long review process & did not align w/the #Trump admin’s priorities.

Issue of warrant of possession proceedings paperwork emailed to me yesterday.

Far too exhausted to have noticed.

This world is far too cruel, cold & uncaring. It is not a world that was made for people like me.

I keep trying to make change, but can not do it alone.

Department of Housing lied to me again. Claim referral was made to NPO.

NPO has no record and they don’t accept refs from them anyway.

April 13 “The rightwing #advocacy group #Advance has acknowledged it is paying for election materials attacking the #Greens to be used by third-party groups during the election campaign.

“Advance is working with hundreds of volunteers from dozens of community groups to defeat Greens candidates and we make no apology,” a spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said Advance did not fund groups directly but “we absolutely pay for anti-Greens campaign material to be at the disposal of volunteers”.
