Is there an online tool you can surf to that will show all of the data available to advertisers on your device like your advertising ID and whatever else crap they gather? I know it's a lot but I wonder what the inclusive list is.
Okay, weird question time: what are the best storage options for large sets of Magic: The Gathering cards that will be in a storage building? I need to place probably over 20,000 cards in a storage unit on for an indeterminate amount of time. I don't want cold, hot, moisture, dryness to impact their integrity. What is a good way to accomplish this? Note that this unit is not climate controlled.
hey
asking because i know next to nothing about these things!
we'll need to get one of those plug-in-and-go wifi things (not a router) from a new provider.
since talking to them always feels like we're getting screwed over:
what should we absolutely ask them before signing a new contract?
i'd really be extremely grateful for any sincere tips

Heading to the fridge. Anyone need a beer?
Ok, Does this exist??
I hear a lot of talk about how so much of tech was built by queer people. People joking whenever bigots start boycotting Rainbows that they'd best shut off their computers, because the whole stack is built by people represented by it.
Does the book highlighting that, really giving the stories of just how filled with gay, trans, etc. stories early (mid, and modern) computing is?
Because, if it does, I'd love to read it, and if it doesn't.. it *should*, and I almost never use that word. But queer history is being erased all the time and fighting back against that is important.
I don't know my computing history all that well, but I know that many of the major players still are alive and may be willing to tell stories to someone. But we've only got that option for so much longer. I'm stuck as a queer unix-dabbler with very little writing experience wondering if since this idea has come to me, I'm going to have to give it a try.
I know I have a lot of ideas that never get enough of my attention to get off the ground, so if this one grabs you, run with it with my blessing. If you can make this happen, do it. If you'd like to help me do so, I'd welcome the aid. I know I'm under qualified to take this on.
Is there a MacOS GUI tool that's good for comparing hard drives to find out which files on one or the other are unique?
I've got hard drives where they're substantially the same (backups), but there are enough unique files (not just unique versions but unique files) that I just need help finding those faster so I know what I have and what I can erase and re-dedicate. #MacOS #AskFedi
Dear #Mastodon experts. I am using #Tusky and am quite happy with it. But when I come across a post with many replies I find it hard to follow conversations below it because I am never sure how many posts up someone is replying to (unless it's the one right above).
On Reddit or #Lemmy for example the indentation is always quite helpful to keep context for a conversation
Another option might be folding some sub-threads to hide them
What other #OpenSource #android app might work for me?
I'm looking for a reliable and small general mastodon instance that's well-maintained and doesn't have open sign-ups, preferably based in the EU
For privacy reasons, I intend to start paying with cash where practical. Other people who pay cash: any tips or tricks?
• Am I going to resent the inconvenience of cash?
• How often do you have to withdraw cash?
• Is there any reason to carry bills larger than $20?
• How do you prevent coins from accumulating?
• Is there a wallet that stores coins in a compact way?
• Are there any businesses that give a discount for cash?

Hey #designers where can I order checks (yes, like paper money checks) that won’t make my eyes bleed?
Think: No wavy lines, no bad clip art, no moiré effects.
I don’t love VistaPrint, but so far they are the ONLY source I can find for a plain and simple (if green) design:
Thanks! #AskFedi
okay, so i set up a GtS instance and want to post some of my most popular toots from the past 5 years. (like just copying and pasting, not literally importing.)
is there a way to see which of my toots Did Numbers aside from using the API to paginate very slowly through them and filter/sort the results by reblog/favourite count?
*edit: current *Mastodon* archives contain boost & like count and can easily be parsed/sorted, but not Hometown, the fork this server runs.
Linux Gamer! Gibt es in Segment dieser noname-Konsolen irgendwas, das taugt und zB mit Nobara einigermaßen brauchbar läuft?
Keine high end Spiele, aber 3-5 Jahre alte Sachen und ein paar Klassiker.
Kein vendor lock-in.

What other livestreams of Nature does the 'Verse recommend?
.....
Sweden Slow TV is livestreaming their annual moose migration.
Mostly, it's just beautiful wilderness; I have yet to see an animal, but still very nice.

From a recent visit to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) physician, it appears I have a painful condition known as trigeminal neuralgia aka tic douloureux. It is resulting in it being very painful to eat, drink, swallow, brush teeth, smile, sleep, and even breathe sometimes, and has been intense for a few weeks now.
And a first-line treatment (the drug Trileptal, -- oxcarbazepine) that I am taking for a mental health condition could instead be doing the opposite reaction and exacerbating the condition.
Does anyone have any stories you can share about the condition and possibly treatment that worked for you or someone you know? It seems to be less discussed in the non-clinical setting.
A family member’s Surface laptop went dark the other day. It seems to be Windows-related. I offered to “fix” it for them by installing Ubuntu. I’m thinking of going with Gnome since Unity is too different from the Windows UI, so they’re not completely disoriented. Or should I go with KDE?
If you’ve introduced a Windows user to Linux before, please share your tips!
