Terri K O 🍁Library books returned April 6, 2025 (today! I'm as caught up as I intend to get!)My books: Catfish Rolling - my mom recommended this one. I liked it but it took forever to read because it messed with my head a bit when I was feeling out of it so I had to stop a lot. The gist of it is that an unknown disaster causes time to run differently in different parts of Japan. Loved the tie to the trees and the seasons and the shrines, even if the dementia and the fast/slow time made me weird.Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga 6-9. Continued to love this series. The expressions are so delightful, and the art was good enough that I didn't find the fight scenes boring. You can really tell the difference 20 years of experience made for the writing and drawing.Games: Little Gator Game was a huge hit with my kid. Very Zelda inspired in the "kids are making up pretend games based with that as the start of their imagination play" and it very much worked. Sequence for Kids - fun and simple. We got a bit of fun out of it but I don't know if it would get regular requests if we owned it because it's pretty simple. Snug as a Bug - cute but too young and i think kiddo didn't love that it was all random. I'll probably get the others out some other time.Sherlock Bones 1 - Sherlock Holmes reborn as a grumpy shelter dog. Cute but not really what I was in the mood for. The Curie Society - nerd girl superhero style. Wish fulfillment for me of 3 decades ago. I liked it but felt like I was too old to be the target audience. This is more of a "gift to a precocious teen who's run out of xmen comics" kind of book.How Could You - queer relationship drama, again written for young adults and would probably have hit harder if I was younger.Kid books: Hocus and Pocus and the Search for Home - this was a HUGE hit and marks the only time my kid has wanted to read a early chapter book, and got him excited about trying others. The character designs for all the witches after adorable and the art is fantastic. We're waiting for the library to get the next book because the bookstore didn't have it.The Queen's Hat - kiddo loved the corgi and the tea guy. When You Are Brave - I liked this one about a kid moving but kiddo wasn't as into it.Little Pea - cute!
