Is it a dream? What if you find a place like this? It looks so lively and calm, but is it? Are you sure...? Maybe you should wake up…

The finished product, and below how it started. There’s a lot of changes for ghe better in the end :) You can check their caption to see my thoughts.

A digital painting done in clip studio paint of my original character finding a very green hilled place with a few strange doorless homes settled randomly on the terrain. In the far background are burning windmills to up the eerie, surreal atmosphere. This is based off my love of liminal spaces and frutiger aero aesthetic!
Essentially the same piece as the first but in the early stages. Originally, another original character of mine would sit on a rocky formation looking over a less detailed terrain. The houses were also set randomly and the windmill im the back is intact. My problem was with composition here and realized I had to rework the character’s size, which ended up being scrapped completely for the above where the new chosen character is instead standing and look like they stumbled on this instead of observing it. Also there were gonna be monsters originally, a concept I also scraped as I painted.

Also I'd not want to ruin an expensive collectors piece just to dremel around and find out.

It'll also help me designing the #NUCbook and I was considering to basically just scale up the two long sides for that, embracing the #FrutigerAero #aesthetics if the form factor!

If anyone has a calipher and said box, it would be cool if they could get the measurements.

  • I could propably "guesstimate" them based off the DVD-ROM inside but I'd ratzer have the correct dimensions just to be shure...
Windows Vista Boxart, which resembles a book but it's sode is curved quarter-circuar to the front and the opposing top vorner is also rounded off
Windows 7 Box, which retains the curve at ths top edge but not the back to front.
