Every time #Microsoft further enshittifies #Windows with more bloatware, spyware, or slopware, I get a spike in requests to uninstall or disable it, and it becomes my primary service request for the next week or two.
Hint, for software developing companies: If people pay for the absence of a feature, then it isn’t a feature. And if your competitor continues anti-consensually imposing such misfeatures on your customer, you have the opportunity to offer a marked competitive advantage by simply not doing that.
Treat consent regarding your customers’ computers the same way anyone deserving to live outside a cage treats consent regarding others’ bodies, and you can take business away from those who are actively contemptuous of consent.
