Together with @annabonnie and @lexelas from @fsfe we dive into what is necessary in terms of social movement to make changes for digital rights. We took #RouterFreedom as example of a side struggle for #NetNeutrality and what are the costs in terms of engagement and resources to make a change in favor of consumer choice.
@fennix TBH, I think those bs claims should be illegal.
The only valid claims I've seen is that it enables people to circumvent #geoblocking and potentially #InternetCensorship as well as #TrafficDiscrimination due to lack of #NetNeutrality, but those are always to be taken with a truckload of salt!
Most certsinly, there are no "#loglessVPN|s" and no #VPN provider will risk jailtime for any.client…

The decision by a three-judge panel blocked #FCC under then President Biden that had sought to reinstate the open internet rules implemented in 2015 but later repealed by the agency under Pres Trump. The groups -- Free Press, Public Knowledge, Open Technology Institute and the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society -- argue appeals court decision conflicts with an earlier decision by another court.

The Italian regulator AGCOM has opened a consultation on the determination of the location of the termination point. This will define whether end-users can use their own routers and modems to connect to the internet.

#RouterFreedom is the longest policy/legal project I have been working so far. While the @fsfe started in Germany way back in 2013, I joined later the party in Feb. 2019 to cover the efforts at EU level after the 2018 reform of EU telecommunications law.
Having confirmed Router Freedom confirmed after almost 6 years in Germany is a great achievement, also in a personal level. I am very grateful to a LOT of people helping us with technical, legal, policy and community management advises. The effort paid off!
In special a big shout out to @mxmehl, @lexelas and @kirschner who have been great fellows in this path.
Now we look to a broader picture. #DeviceNeutrality, #DMA, #satellite networks are posing new challenges for #NetNeutrality and the right of end-users to choose their own equipment for internet connection.
