"Dismissing opposition from renewable energy developers, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday approved the PJM Interconnection’s proposal for a fast-track interconnection review for shovel-ready generation projects.

#PJM's proposed change to the Surplus Interconnection Service (#SIS) rules "allows a new resource to use any unused portion of an existing generating facility’s #interconnection service as long as the total amount of interconnection service at the point of interconnection remains the same. "

This suggests that assigned interconnection capacity is currently under-used. I wonder by how much.

Mammoth North #solar park in Indiana came into our system today. It is a 400 MW park (~75k homes) and seems to have started sending energy in October. The owner is building 1.2 GW more in the area, which will have a significant impact on pricing in the #PJM market.
