Those and other cuts totaling 45% of SEPTA service would be implemented in two phases, starting this fall — if the Pennsylvania legislature doesn’t pass Gov. Josh Shapiro’s latest proposal to increase state aid for mass transit systems.

For #Doorsday: A door at the bottom of some stone stairs at Ephrata Cloister, from my visit to Lancaster County, PA. Jonathan Groff made a promotional video for this place (he has roots in the area), so, being fans of Groff and theater, we had to go. It’s a lovely, tranquil place with some fascinating history, and I recommend taking the guided tour if you’re ever there.

A short stone staircase, in an old building of wood and stone, leads down to a shadowed landing where a doorway - blocked off by railing - offers a glimpse of a sunlit brick-paved courtyard. At the top of the stairs in the foreground is a low wooden gate, worn down by weather and time.
