I could swear this phrase first occurred in “The Empire Strikes Back” while Han & Chewie were working on the Falcon on Hoth, though I can’t find the exact quote now. It continues to show up later in the franchise. Notably, in “Knights of the Old Republic II,” it occurs at least three times, leading me to wonder if ships also have starboard stabilizers.

It’s been a rumor/open secret for years that Tom Stoppard ghost-wrote parts of “Revenge of the Sith.” This is a good candidate for one of his lines, completed, of course, by, “To thunderous applause.” (A little topical?)
