btw I personally liked the idea of space travel through an intergalactic mycel network - I knew it's far-fetched from the science of mycology, but it was a fantastic and creative idea and wonderful science fiction - with emphasis on fiction.
"I don't know", Star Trek franchise head Alex Kurtzman said when asked why Star Trek series would end after five seasons. He said people would "check out after two or three seasons". Well, if you take forever to deliver new seasons with only 10 episodes each, no wonder people lose interest.
It's the tardigras spore drive all over again: everyone is to blame but the people who thought of it.
