It has had over 20 years in which to accrete undocumented customisations and works *perfectly*, which is why I've been procrastinating about this migration for years.

In meine nähere Auswahl sind Lucidchart (https://www.lucidchart.com/) und draw.io (https://www.drawio.com/) gekommen.
Vergleichsweise habe ich zwei einfache UML-Diagramme in beiden Programmen gezeichnet.
Ich habe den Funktionsumfang beider Programme bei weitem nicht ausgeschöpft.
draw.io erlaubt die Zeichnungen als XML Datei auf dem eigenen Rechner zu speichern.
Für Lucidchart gibt es eine eingeschränkte Gratis-Version, drawio ist kostenlos.
Is there some free software that can generate source code from UML diagrams? OK if it's limited to Java and/or C++. Also OK if it handles only basic UML association types.

I was asked about UML tooling and I have no idea. What’s the thing people are using right now? The person asking is unhappy with diagrams.net because they want something that is specifically for UML and not a general-purpose diagramming tool.
