Is #wine good for sore throat?
Let's find out
@kontrollierterWahnwitz @MarkSquiresWine well, I did use the #wine hashtag instead of #winehq.
It's mostly my fault I think.
Hey mark, I'm Portuguese, such as that Alvarinho bottle you were drinking
My apologies for using the wrong hashtag. Now, be a sports and leave us to our matters, will you. Thanks a bunch.
Cheers
This 2014 Reserve from Anthony Nappa on Long Island is showing perfectly today. Subtle, silky and with great mid-palate finesse, it has fine fruit, big aromatics and a bright feel. It's a great demonstration of how New York Pinot Noir can work. $50, 13.7%. 75 cases.
Tapas: a lot of small drinks. But at the end you will be a little squiffy. #wine

Huge props to @isaacmarovitz who recently put his fantastic OSS project, #Whisky in maintenance mode. Whisky is a macOS front end to play games using #Wine and the Apple’s Wine-based GPTK. Isaac explains his reason on his docs page and I have to say, this is what integrity looks like. https://docs.getwhisky.app/maintenance-notice

Blueprint Pinot Noir. Produced in Romania by Cramele Recaș, it offers a fresh take on the variety and demonstrates that Pinot doesn’t have to be expensive or from Burgundy:

Can anyone confirm that this ghost sign is for the French Vabé brand, owned by Byrrh?
https://caves-byrrh-boutique.fr/produit/vabe/
I can't make out all of the slogan in yellow, but the 'Catalan' line would fit with Rivesaltes, where Vabé originates from, which is just north of Perpignan, and therefore in French Catalonia.
Here's the location on streetview, where the motion of the camera has created a new brand: Wabé
Posted on this before, but it's worth repeating.
Off vintages are often a success--especially in bargain hunting. Is this the greatest Montrose, or even the greatest '99? Nope. But it was cheap, even by then standards, under $30, and it lasted 25 years. Classic Bordeaux, it is complex, dense and velvety. You could do a lot worse and pay a lot more.
