If you've been following my toots for a while, you know how incredibly grateful I am to @yunohost for empowering me to self-host my own fedi instances.

Six months ago I knew nothing about self-hosting. Now, thanks to #YunoHost and the superb tools they offer (for free!), I am running my own #GoToSocial, #Friendica, #Pixelfed and #PeerTube instances. I am a new and improved and more empowered digital citizen thanks to it. I cannot begin to describe the immense gratitude I feel towards YunoHost and its team of volunteers.

I upgraded my #mastodon instance on #Yunohost to 4.3.7 and now none of the images or avatars will load. I am at a loss. I tried to add an image to a post, it just sits there loading. Any clues?

Então a dica é pesquisar por VPS por até 2 dólares, aí vão aparecer várias opções mais acessíveis. Claro que são mais simples, porém mais que o suficiente para começar

To display websites under #YunoHost, a special #My_Webapp application needs to be installed for each configured domain. Okay, I get that. Of course, there are pitfalls, but that's probably inevitable.

My first attempt with re-form.eu has been a failure so far. But with the knowledge I gained, I managed to get clean-web.org up and running successfully. At least.

This blog, as you know, relies on #ssi, or #shtml pages. This has to be specifically enabled in the #nginx web server, which I did. I don't know if it's in the right place or in the right way. I have the information from the original nginx documentation, and the server didn't report any errors after reloading. Furthermore, there's an #htaccess file in the web directory that specifies index.shtml as the first file to be launched. Nevertheless, only a 404 page appears.

I'd be open to suggestions #Linux #VPS

Um Webseiten unter #YunoHost anzeigen zu können, braucht es für jede eingerichtet Domain die Installation einer speziellen #My_Webapp Applikation.Na gut, habe ich begriffen. Dass da natürlich Fallstricke lauern, ist wohl unvermeidlich.

Mein erster Versuch mit re-form.eu ist bislang ein Misserfolg. Mit den Kenntnissen dann aber clean-web.org erfolgreich zum Laufen gebracht. Immerhin.

Das Blog hier setzt bekanntlich auf #ssi, also #shtml-Seiten. Dies muss im #nginx Webserver extra aktiviert werden, was ich tat. Ob an der richtigen Stelle, in der richtigen Weise, weiß ich nicht. Ich habe die Angaben aus der originalen nginx-Dokumentation und der Server meldete keinen Fehler, nachdem er neu geladen wurde. Zudem existiert im Web-Verzeichnis eine #htaccess-Datei, die index.shtml als zuerst startende Datei vorgibt. Trotzdem erscheint nur eine 404-Seite.

Things are getting dangerous for #YunoHost!

Once I understood the logic behind the email addresses, I created five domains. After all of them were equipped with a #letsencrypt certificate, I created five accounts for the required #email addresses. The successful setup of the #cli mail program #aerc confirmed my thoughts. Joy... only briefly.

Now the websites should be back online. So I fed #FileZilla the new information. No connection. I could only access the #server with the administrator credentials, but not a public_html directory. So I checked via #ssh. There's no "Document_root" defined in #nginx, and under "sites-available" there is only "default" (without a document_root).

Why doesn't YunoHost create a corresponding data structure for the domains? Especially since there's no mention of it in the documentation. My blood pressure is rising

Als ich die Logik mit den E-Mail-Adressen verstanden hatte, habe ich 5 Domänen angelegt. Die #YunoHost Diagnose beschwert sich, dass kein #IP6 #ReverseDNS Eintrag existiert. Zum Abschalten soll auf der Konsole der Befehl

ausgeführt werden. Doch was erhält man als Antwort?

Ja, verflucht noch eins, so wurde mir das aber von euch selbst vorgegeben!!! Verflixt und zugenäht noch eins!!!
