the FAA is in a mess. this article pushes for privatization, like Canada did in 1996. i didn't know this: apparently New Zealand was the first of about sixty countries to privatize ATC, in 1987

Newark Liberty International Airport faced a near-crisis Monday night when a single air traffic controller, assisted only by a trainee, managed all flight operations for three hours amid severe staffing shortages and ongoing tech outages. Normally requiring 15 personnel, the control tower was stretched to a dangerous limit, highlighting escalating burnout and safety risks as a fifth of the staff took trauma leave.
It's because alleged news media like USA TODAY spent years uncritically covering a rising Nazi menace. It's because the 2-party system ignored hate speech in mass media. It's because our elections are rigged by gerrymandering and voter suppression wink-wink-nudge-nudge approved by the SCOTUS the rich bought for themselves. It's because congress is nothing but PR for corporations and the billionaire domestic and foreign enemies of our constitution who funnel money to members and expect results. It's because a gun manufacturer's profit margin is worth more than the lives of dozens of people in a flying tin can. It's because tech bros got richer than entire nations, and all of them, every single one, is a sociopath.
Why? You know why.
