Brave open sources Cookiecrumbler, an AI-powered tool to automatically detect and block cookie consent banners, currently running on Brave servers, with plans to move it to the browser:

Kdenlive 25.04 released with AI-powered background removal plugin, OpenTimelineIO import/export, refactored audio thumbnail system, ability to change the duration of multiple adjacent clips in a single action and more:
https://alternativeto.net/news/2025/4/kdenlive-25-04-is-out-with-background-removal-opentimelineio-import-export-and-much-more/
(That background removal tool is actually a pretty good use of AI, and it runs locally, so no need to give Kdenlive Internet access.)
(The ability to change duration of multiple clips at once is also pretty useful, I might attempt to update Kdenlive to get that feature, and hope it doesn't break lol.)
Joplin 3.3 released with various accessibility improvements (keyboard navigation, screen reader support, higher contrast UI elements etc.), option to collapse or expand all notebook hierarchies with a single button, run multiple independent instances for better workspace management on desktop, new search dialog for quick linking of notes, Markdown auto-replacement in Rich Text Editor, improved focus handling in modals on mobile, support for attaching audio recordings to notes and enhanced voice typing on Android, redesigned "New Note" menu:

OpenBSD 7.7 released with performance boosts, expanded hardware support, support for Scalable Vector Extension (SVE) and enabling PAC on hardware with the new QARMA3 cipher, improved support for running the system in QEMU, kernel improvements etc.:

Games are art and covering them should be an extension of that expression.
Adding corporate interests to the creation of said art is only going to make the art suffer.
Future of Giant Bomb website in doubt following prominent staff departures | VGC
Originally I started making all my videos look old, like they were film or a VHS running on an old TV, as a way to both save storage space as I could use 24 FPS, and lower res, and not have it look like garbage, as well as a form of artistic expression as I just thought it looked cool.
I now have more storage, and I think I'll keep doing it anyway.
Makes my Videos on #scoopz stand out as nobody else seems to have a similar style.
Some days the #news is just so MESSED UP I freeze and don't know what #videos to make.
Today's one of those days.
I only have the focus to make about two or three. Otherwise I spend all day researching and trying to record a #rant that is satisfying to me.
The #editing process is actually the easy part - takes me about 5 minutes to add filters and effects, and whatever outro I choose.
Narrowing down what's most important is hard.
More cooffffeee.

Taking my first dip into the @kdenlive pool. I'll still need Resolve for specific things related to my paid work but whenever I can, I'll support something free and community maintained. Loving it so far and impressed with how feature packed it is.
Why Owncast? Because I love taking control and embracing the pain in everything I do! No pain, no gain.
Owncast is a free, open-source, self-hosted platform that lets me customize my streaming experience and keep my content under control—no corporate overlords here!

These RP servers are making Take Two money hand over fist!
Bet they aren't sharing that revenue, though.
GTA 5 still the most-watched game on Twitch, 1.4bn hours viewed last year

I should start doing #truecrime videos.
I love delving into random, wild #crime that doesn't get shared around a lot. You will never be more confused than at the random stuff people get up to, that may make a local newspaper, but not much further.
I have a cache of interesting criminal cases that no large channel has covered, that I have put off making videos out of because it would require a lot of editing, and some research too.
Might give it a shot :D

One hint of good news that made me smile -
I just crossed 1000 followers on #scoopz which allowed me to apply for the creator fund.
It is under review, and I dunno if they'll approve me.
But I could be making ad revenue on my videos soon.
What a strange day.
