The #SciArtSeptember prompt gossamer made me think of the wings of this Megachile brevis leafcutter bee.
Unlike the better known, and imported honeybee, the Leafcutter bees are solitary and make no honey, but they are vital pollinators who play an important role in the ecosystem. They are found throughout the US and southern Canada from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Guten Morgen zusammen, beim ersten Gartenrundgang habe ich ihre Spuren gefunden: auch in diesem Jahr ist bei mir die #blattschneiderbiene ( Megachile sp.) unterwegs. Immer an derselben Stelle, immer nimmt sie frische Blätter der Alba Rose 'Blush Hip'. Sie muss wohl irgendwo in der Nähe wohnen, aber ich habe ihr Nest noch nicht gefunden.
Sie schädigt übrigens die Pflanze nicht.

@loren I have Australia's largest bee for you: Megachile monstrosa.
Marked as sensitive as it may appear scary, but this solitary bee uses her huge mandibles to dig a nest in solid wood.
In the last photo, you can see her enlarging a knot hole while a gasteruption wasp (parasitic) waits for an opportunity to lay her egg on the bee's egg. Wood shavings were falling on me as I took this photo from below.
