14mission<p>Another question for the <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/FilmPhotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FilmPhotography</span></a> / <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/shittycamerachallenge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>shittycamerachallenge</span></a> folks.<br>Sometimes when I'm taking pictures with <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/BoxCamera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BoxCamera</span></a>, like the <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/KodakBrownie" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KodakBrownie</span></a>, I wish I could zoom in on a distant subject.<br>Now a lot of people would probably say, "just get a real camera, dumbass!". But I think I'm in a safe space here among people who will support my attempts to figure out just what I can do with a 100-year old camera.<br>A lot of these old cameras have portrait (close-fucusing) attachments, and I have these for the Duaflex and the Hawkeye (they're harder to find for the original Brownie). It seems like a telephoto attachment ought to be possible. If they didn't make one, perhaps something could be rigged up?</p>
NYSlothA friend who had been using this 1950s junk store camera as a stash box gifted it to me. The Pho-Tak "Time" Traveler has a shutter speed of 1/50 of a second and an f stop of 11. The lens is a simple meniscus. I shot a roll of CineStill BWxx and a roll of CineStill 400D.
