In the spirit of #WaterfallWednesday, I hiked to this magnificent #waterfall today in the White #Mountains, #NewHampshire. It felt impossible to fully capture the beauty of this 140 foot (43 m) waterfall in a single image. Here is a pic looking up at the upper portion with the sun setting behind the top. Þorufoss is not really one of the most exciting waterfalls in Iceland but it's practically right by the side of the road. Would be a shame not to stop and check it out. Apparently it was featured in the Game of Thrones tv show. I for one don't remember ever seeing it in the show.

For #WaterfallWednesday this week, I made a slight refinement to the original edit of a photograph I made last summer at a spot that brings me a great deal of solace every time I visit it.

Golden Isolation

This lucky person has the viewing platform at the top of the waterfall all to themselves. Except for us, on the walkway above, taking their photo.

Fed by the meltwater from Langjökull glacier that gives the waterway its name - the white river, Hvítá¹ - this is the upper falls of Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") in Flúðir, #Iceland.

I am thankful for change. As I read, listen and watch the news unfolding around the world. I am horrified by some, angry, frustrated, even stressed by much of it but it wont last. Truly it's not sustainable, for nothing but the flow of change is consistent.

If you ever need a mental shift into positive change, seek to be near flowing water. Let the beauty of nature wash away your worries, carrying them downstream through the current of change. Change is always coming, so be ready to support that which you hope to see.

For #WaterfallWednesday I have this photo taken last week when I was mentoring the 16 year old student from Surrey. This creek is completely dry in the summer. The best time to photograph it is now. It is located in a place known as Xwee Xwhya Luq by the K'ómoks people, in what is called today Courtenay.
