A reporter flagged an AI-generated deepfake of WNBA star Caitlin Clark that appeared on X. But the platform didn’t remove the offensive and bogus post. “Tech companies haven't put that necessary level of investment into stopping the problem,” Stephen Noe writes for the @SportingNews: “As a result, deepfakes continue to flood social media sites. The Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) has developed a method to recognise #deepfakes. This can be done through #blood flow detection, or the human heartbeat. With every #heartbeat, the tiny veins under your eyes and in your face dilate slightly. That causes a small colour difference in the face. The #NFI can detect this. This changing blood flow is absent in faces in deepfakes.
