Hey #WritingCommunity Did you know that there exists an organisation called Bookshare that makes books accessible for people who have whatever problems to read the written word? I have learned about them from @Fragglemuppet and donated my epub to them.
(They are permitted to do what they are doing by U.S. copyright law because they only make the files available in accessible formats for people who fall under the ADA, but of course, if you donate your files you got a higher chance of bringing your writing to their brains)

Here's a tip for all you authors who either want to sell your book on Mastodon or don't expect to do so.

*** Don't mention your book on your profile. ***

Because if you do, when you follow me, I just conclude that this person wants to sell a book, not interact in any worthwhile way. So I don't follow back. Which is bad for you whether you mainly want to sell your book or just be friends.

I vastly underestimated, as a young-in-path writer, the time to *maintain* a large catalog.

I thought having a large catalog would be the key to a successful career, esp in self-pub (and it was), but the maintenance goes exponential w/ # of books.

Still worth it tho.
