Something I just learned: You know those alerts in the system tray that show up from #WindowsUpdate? Those appear to run MoNotificationUX.exe on Windows 11, and I believe it's MusNotifyIcon.exe on Windows 10, and to determine what notification alert to show in the system tray, that's determined by the command line that's passed to the executable when it runs. For example I have this one: "Your device is missing important updates.
Select this icon for more info." So the command line for that is: C:\WINDOWS\uus\packages\preview\AMD64\MoNotificationUx.exe /NotificationType Download_Blocked_Important /FormFactor Passive /CV YerSunSxvEKR25KB.1.0.0. So from this, we can tell that it's an important alert, which does match because the icon says that I am missing important updates, and also that a download was blocked, which is correct due to my settings. If I right click that icon, it does provide an option to download now. It's just interesting how that seems to match, and it makes me wonder what will happen if I just wait it out.

#Security fixes and other updates will be “orchestrated” by Redmond’s own #update tool.

#WindowsUpdate keeps #Windows updated (well, duh). It can also update some “other #Microsoft products,” if you let it. Soon, it’ll be able to do the same for other companies’ apps.

But WHY must #Microsoft misuse the concept of #orchestration to describe it? Messy musical metaphors aside, this seems like a good idea. In #SBBlogwatch, we wave a baton.
