BeaHaubentaucher bauen ihre Nester aus Schilfhalmen und Unterwasserpflanzen. So häufen sie eine schwimmende, halb im Wasser versunkene Plattform auf. Das machen sie so lange, bis das Nest sowohl den Haubentaucher als auch das Gelege trägt. Das Pflanzenmaterial verrottet, wodurch ein wenig Wärme entsteht. Diese verhindert ein zu schnelles Abkühlen der Eier, wenn der brütende Haubentaucher das Nest mal verlassen muss. Wenn er dies tut, bedeckt er das Nest mit Pflanzen. Quelle: Josef H. BeaDas Herz-Lungen-System von Vögeln weist eine gut fünffach höhere Leistung auf als das vergleichbar große System eines Säugetiers. Der Unterschied besteht darin, dass Säugetiere eine Sacklunge haben, Vögel dagegen ein Röhrensystem. Wenn Vögel einatmen, strömt die Luft unter der Lunge in die hinteren Luftsäcke und wird dort auf Körpertemperatur gebracht. Von dort wird die Luft nach vorne durch die Lunge und ihr Röhrensystem in die vorderen Luftsäcke gepresst und dann ausgeatmet. Bei den Vögeln gibt es also keinen Stillstand der Luft in der Lunge, so wie es bei uns Säugetieren der Fall ist. Somit können Vögel den Sauerstoffgehalt der Luft viel besser ausnutzen und das Kohlendioxid wirkungsvoller abtransportieren. Quelle: Josef H. Es handelt sich hierbei um Mischlinge, d.h. sie sind Kreuzungen aus Hausenten und “wilden” Enten. Solche Enten können in Stadtparks beobachtet werden. FrankSpannender Ausflug: Bei Schelklingen auf der Alb wohnen derzeit ca. 4 Millionen Bergfinken und in der Dämmerung kehren die alle gemeinsam zu immer gleichen Fichtenwäldchen zurück.
