Because if you want to get paid on the sly, like for bribes and such, crypto is a great way to do it.

Okay, so some weird crypto project "airdropped" some of their weird tokens to open source developers. And apparently I received some of this monopoly money (worth about 200 USD). Now I just need to find the fastest way to cash out. #CryptoIsAScam

I remain annoyed that dumbasses commandeered the root of a word that my goth, mystery-loving self used to use joyously and has now become tainted thanks to those same crypto-bros. I hope Mothman eats all you sad, desperate grifters.
