@chris It would be a great #PublicService for meetings with #FossilFuel & other #ecocide #CorporateLobbyists with ANY of our public elected #PublicServants to be open to #PublicTransparency #PublicAccountability #PublicScrutiny.
Too many #politicians forget that they are elected public servants. That means, their job is to serve us, the public, not corporate lobbyists. If they're not guilty of selling out the public for their own corporate lobbyists & political benefits - they'd not be so damn scared of full public transparency.
For comparison, a new electric Wright StreetDeck double-decker #bus is about 11 metres long and 2.5 metres wide (occupying 28 square metres of tarmac).
The latest Ford FUVs are 5.6 to 6.6 metres long and 2 to 2.4 metres wide (occupying 11 to 16 square metres of tarmac).
A #PublicService bus (carrying 70-100 #passengers) is smaller than two Ford "family" cars (carrying 3 people - average car occupancy is 1.5 in Ireland) even if they are touching nose-to-tail.
I've been collecting stories about how #CPBFundingCuts will affect specific stations. I'll be posting those shortly, but this seemed to be a good place to start...
#CorporationForPublicBroadcasting, funder of #NPR and #PBS, says it will end operations within months after federal budget cuts
By Kerry Breen

Excerpt: "Maher warned that #defunding #PublicRadio poses 'a real risk to the #PublicSafety of the country.' She said some NPR stations receive 'more than 50% of their budget' from federal funding and may face layoffs and station closures.
"#Rural areas would feel the largest impacts, Maher said. Local stations also provide vital alerts in #emergencies like #storms, #floods and #wildfires."

Well, I finally got around to evaluating the #ManageMyHealth portal;
https://managemyhealth.co.nz/about-us/
When my GP suggested I sign up with it, I presumed it was a public service offered by Te Whatu Ora, like My Health Record;
https://www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/health-services-and-programmes/digital-health/my-health-record
So what do I think of Manage My Health? Not impressed. This is a privately-owned, for-profit digital platform, that I can't be certain isn't #DataFarming patients who sign up with it.

Not sure I understand this, but I think our Sam is weeding our fraudsters in the public procurement process. If so, well done, Sam, we need you here today.
Plus, of course, based on recent entries it seems that Sam is taking an Open University course on basic arithmetics, learning the multiplication tables. Never too late!
Good work, Sam. A model to public servants everywhere and at all times.

In a pivotal labor development, Susie Madrak reveals that Philadelphia's first major city worker strike since 1986 ended after eight days with a new contract. Mayor Cherelle L. Parker and union leader Greg Boulware agreed to terms, allowing 9,000 essential workers to return. The three-year contract includes 3% annual raises and a new pay scale step, but Boulware expressed disappointment, highlighting the negotiation's challenges.
