The Clash kicked off the UK leg of their White Riot tour at Guildford Civic Hall, supported by Buzzcocks, Subway Sect, and the Slits.

The picture is a rare shot from that evening.
On 30 April 1978, 100,000 people marched six miles from Trafalgar Square to the East End of London (a National Front hotspot) for an open-air concert at Victoria Park in Hackney. The concert featured The Clash, Steel Pulse, Tom Robinson Band, X-Ray Spex, Jimmy Pursey (from Sham 69), and Patrik Fitzgerald.

Just found out Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is a huge punk fan & a monster Clash fan. Not what i was expecting from a former Governor of the Bank of England & Bank of Canada. Going back to this Clash tune was like sitting down with an old friend.
