I have to recommend another series to you - High Desert. It's on Apple TV+ [I'm on there for Severance until end of this month] and Patricia #Arquette is just nailing it! She plays a middle aged ex junkie/ex dealer [?] living in Yucca Valley, California whose mother just died and she is oh. So. Broke. And mental. She decides to become a PI, is agonizing everyone - and I really don't understand why this beauty of a series got cancelled after its 1. season!

Located between Silver City and Deming, City of Rocks State Park is known for its large rock columns, that rise up to 40 feet. The boulders were formed by a large volcanic eruption about 34.9 million years ago.

It's raining. House guests are gone, and it's quiet. I have nothing on my calendar, other than a quick trip to pick up small paintings that didn't sell . Trying to decide what I am painting in the afternoon... and this may be it. Trying to build up some snowy paintings, as I was *almost* selected to be the Christmas card for the local well-known art appraiser, but missed it because I didn't have any snowy scenes. Maybe next year!

City of Rocks State Park is one square mile in the Chihuahuan desert of SW #NewMexico. The boulders were deposited on the plains 34.9 million years ago when one of the volcanoes in the Black Range erupted. Camping, mountain biking, stargazing, hiking, wildlife viewing & birding.

Third mesa, the most challenging of Gallup's High Desert Trail system, a rolling trail with plenty of ridgebacks.

I have many kinds of penstemons in my garden. I love them all for their colors, long blooming period, and pollinator-friendliness. BUT this one is my absolute favorite: Palmer's Penstemon. Stalks are tall (about 4ft) and the fragrance is heavenly. Flowers are showy. It does well in the high desert climate. Highly recommended.
