Good news for everyone working with #LXC and #Incus containers: Rocky and Alma Linux 10 container are now available!
The official image server of the #linuxcontainers project added version 10 of #rockylinux and #almalinux at the end of August.

Home server rack finally got moved to its new dedicated room, now with proper climate control, sound insulation and a lot less dust!
This runs most of the image building, some CI and the online demo for the #Incus project amongst other things.
for anyone like me who is very very (very) late to the Linux #LXC party, this explains why #LXD has been replaced with #Incus.
tl;dr: #Canonical ruined things with a embrace-extend-extinguish play of relicensing and requiring contributors to sign a CLA to contribute to LXD.

In this week's #Incus OS live stream I'll (finally) be looking at adding a CLI to manage a remote Incus OS server! https://youtube.com/live/LoAeBi1lXfQ?feature=share
#Incus 6.16 has been released!
This one comes with a TrueNAS storage driver, ability to install Windows VMs without repacking the ISOs and support for tmpfs-backed disks for containers.

@bsi gibt es zur Doppelstrategie noch konkreteres zum Absichern von Software von z.B. US Anbietern?
@ironicbadger My VM/System Container needs are simple so i've had no problems with #Incus on #NixOS.
One of my favourite features is that because it's a Go binary it can be run as a client on multiple OS'. So i can run it on my primary #MacOS system to admin my nodes running on #Linux.
I wrote a blog post at the beginning of the year about how I set it up on a cheap 1L mini PC (along with relevant configuration.nix file):

In this week's #Incus OS live stream, I'll be looking at expanding our REST API!

Time for another round of LTS updates for #LXC, #LXCFS and #Incus!
Version 6.0.5 LTS of all three projects is now out.

In this week's #Incus OS livestream, I'm going to be working on image publishing for our image server.

Just merged the #TrueNAS storage driver for #Incus. This allows having standalone or clustered Incus servers use a remote TrueNAS server to store instances, images and volumes.
Makes it very easy to run an HA Incus cluster by just pointing it at a TrueNAS server or storage appliance!

First boot of #Incus OS inside of a 64-bit ARM VM!
That's with all security features enabled as with a production build, so full UEFI Secure Boot and TPM 2.0.
@debian upgrading my first machine to Trixie. Following the instructions below I've uninstalled all packages from non-Debian sources (in that machine that's #Incus - it will be re-installed from Trixie sources).

Time to resume the #Incus OS live streams, this week I'll be looking at adding ARM support!

#Incus 6.15 is now out!
This adds support for private OCI registries, logging through webhooks and a bunch of VM and CLI improvements.
