Hallo schlaues Fediverse, ich tauche gerade in ein völlig absurdes #Rabbithole und mein M1 Macbook hat dank #LlmStudio und #Ollama seinen Lüfter wiederentdeckt… Aktuell ist lokal bei #LLM mit 8-12b Schluss (32GB Ram). Gibt es irgendwo #Benchmarks die mir bitte ausreden, dass das mit einem M4 >48GB RAM drastisch besser wird? Oder wäre was ganz anderes schlauer? Oder anderes Hobby? Muss Mobil (erreichbar) sein, weil zu unsteter Lebenswandel für ein Desktop. Empfehlungen gern in den Kommentaren.

Follow-up to this note:

At one of the times the current #Armbian #linux kernel didn't crash, but booted on my #RockPro64 I installed #GotoSocial and yes: no more strange error messages running it. The only time I remember that I updated a linux kernel to make an application work.

Preparations to get the production system running with the newer kernel:

• in case of problems I'd need to know my way back to boot the old kernel: u-boot recap and learning
• test suspected problems with the #sata #pcie ctrl beforehand (get a second Pine64 sata ctrl for the test system)

Meanwhile Dragan had patched the device tree and asked to check on a few reboots whether this would make a difference or cause any regressions.

On my #yunohost I tried to update #gotosocial from 0.17.4~ynh1 to 0.18.1~ynh1 and the update failed.

GotoSocial just showed some cryptical error messages when started.

@dumpsterqueer@superseriousbusiness.org traced the problem back to a changed lib version used in the new GotoSocial version and the developer of the lib answered my #linux kernel would be too old.

The old #armbian legacy kernel is running, because … I don't remember.

I need a kernel update for my #rockpro64.

Sometimes it helps when somebody in your team just asks. "Do we need this right now?"

Now I'm really excited that we have everything ready to make a major step forward in a few weeks.

Eigentlich dachte ich so: "Such dir doch mal ein paar gute Job- / IT-Projekt-Börsen, Portale oder ähnliches raus."

So könnte ich mir schnell einen Überblick verschaffen, was es so aus dem Bereich "Jobs mit mehr Sinn" an Angeboten gibt. Aber da hab ich wohl ein etwas größere #Rabbithole erwischt.

Fast 200(!) Börsen in 11 Haupt- und 8 Teilgruppen sind zusammengekommen. Die Idee nun ist, über diese Forschung in einer kleinen Post & Reply-Chain hier zu berichten.

One of the things I hate about a #smartwatch is that I have to charge it. I forget to put it back on all the time. I just set a reminder in my #todo app to put it back on in a bit. That got me thinking though, there has to be a way for #gadgetbridge to notify my phone that my #banglejs2 watch is done charging. Time to start digging another #rabbithole!
