Brayshaws Homestead in Namadgi National Park is a great location for astrophotography. About an hour drive from Canberra it is in dark sky country. I took both these images on the same evening in September 2022. 02/02/2025 - What the stars were doing whilst we had our tea.

Photo of 40 mins of star trials, looking north. Dark trees. There's a bright light of a plane at the bottom and a light trail of another plane in the middle. Evening walk up and round the hill. We sat by the end of the wood and had our tea. Watching the stars turn. It was a little cloudy and chilly but it felt great to be out. The hill was calm tonight.

#Sternenstrichspuren aus den Aufnahmen nach dem #Polarlicht.

Sternenstrichspuren-Aufnahme. Die vielen Sterne ziehen konzentrische Kreise mit Kreismittelpunkt nahe der oberen Kante leicht rechts der Mitte. Eine Sternenstrichspur hat in etwa eine Ausdehnung von 30°, durch die große Anzahl an Sternen ist dies aber nur schwer zu erkennen, weil meist in der nähe eine weitere Strichspur den Verlauf weiterführt.

Unten sieht man hinter ein paar wenigen Fichten ein Dorf mit vielen Lichtern von Straßenlaternen, Häuser, Autos usw.
Leicht oberhalb dieses Dorfes führt eine durch die Autolichter erhellte Straße schräg von rechts nach Links etwas in die Höhe, darüber sieht man Lichter einer kleineren Ansiedelung welche auf einem auslaufendem Berghügel liegt. Und oberhalb dieses Berghügels sieht man die Sternenstrichspuren, die von ein paar Fliegern gekreuzt werden - als Flieger erkennt man das deshalb weil die Linie strichliert aussieht, das kommt vom Blinken der Lichter (Positionslicht, Kollisionswarnlicht).
